Level 2 Rumaki Reo

Recommended Prior Learning
To be considered for entry into this course, it is recommended that tauira progress from Rumaki Reo Maori at Year 11; Year 10 and Year 9 Rumaki prior to that. Notwithstanding rigorous testing and or interviewing of tauira and whānau will be undertaken to ascertain the level of knowledge and ability the tauira has with regard to Te Reo Maori. If the tauira satisfies the requirements of the program, they will be admitted into the course, pending approval by subject teachers and the HOD of Maori, if not, a place will be offered to them into Papakura High Schools Te Pokaitahi program at Level 2.
The graduate profile for a tauira of our program is to be an effective communicator, a self manager and able to undertake self directed study inside and outside of school (study/homework/revision). At this level they will complete Internal Achievement Standards for Whakarongo, Waihanga Tuhinga and Korero and be entered into two external exams for Panui and Tuhituhi.

Only students engaged in learning and achievement derived from Te Marautanga o Aotearoa are eligible to be awarded these subjects as part of the requirement for 14 credits in each of three subjects.
