Recommended Prior LearningL2 Visual Art is recommended. Acceptance on the course is at the Head of Department’s discretion.
This course is for students who are leaning towards a career in the creative industries and would like more time developing skills in Visual Arts. This course will be student-led with students able to choose from a variety of media and themes to develop artworks in either Printmaking or Painting.
Students will research art making traditions and influences on recent Painting and/or Printmaking practice. Developing appropriate skills to generate, analyse and clarify students’ own ideas and gain an understanding of using mediums, processes and approaches relevant to Painting or Printmaking in order to create original artwork.
Successful completion of NCEA Level 2 Visual Art is recommended for this course or at the discretion of the HOD Art.
