Recommended Prior LearningA keen interest in Pacific Studies!
It would be beneficial if you have also taken the Level 1 and/or Level 2 Pacific Studies course/s.
8+ credits in Level 2 Social Studies / Level 2 History or Approval of HOD Social Science,
Students also must have a good level of Literacy (as there is a lot of Research, Reading & Writing)
This Semester course will follow on from Level 1 & 2 Pacific Studies with more in-depth exploration to different Pacific Histories, values of Pacific cultures and how Pacific people responded or resisted colonialism. The focus will be on ‘silenced Pacific histories’ – Pacific histories that are not spoken about or not as known. Upon learning this, it will allow us to know who we are, where we come from and what our future may hold. Pacific peoples have always been story-tellers and we will do this through pod-cast and speaking. The learning that will take place in this course is in preparation for the TWO INTERNAL Assessments that you will be sitting during the Semester.
The courses we offer are reviewed regularly and are subject to change.
