Level 3 Science - Earth and Space Science

This course explores in-depth the consequences on our Oceans of the rising levels of CO2  in the atmosphere largely as a result of burning fossil fuels. About one-quarter of all CO2 emissions are absorbed by the earth’s oceans. Over the last decade, scientists have discovered that this excess CO2 is changing the chemistry of the sea and proving harmful to many forms of marine life. We investigate this issue with research and experimentation. An additional assessment is included that focuses on Space exploration, searching for life on the Moons of Saturn and Jupiter.
