Level 1 Science - Investigating and Communicating Scientific Knowledge
Course Description
Teacher in Charge:
This course focuses on Biology with links to Chemistry and Physics. It will give students the opportunity to explore in more depth the Life Processes - MRS GREN that enable our bodies to maintain good health. We will be focusing on nutrition and exercise and the impact unhealthy choices can have on our well-being. This will be explored using a range of scientific investigative approaches. In addition, students will explore the development of scientific ideas in response to new evidence or varied perspectives, such as Māori and Pacific knowledge systems, and how this information is communicated to the public.
Students continuing on from Semester One(1SCIL) will be able to extend their time completing the Science 1.2 Achievement Standard.
