Course Description

Talofa lava and Welcome to Samoa the Pearl of the Pacific. In this Semester, we will be learning about the cultural values and the roles of young Samoan men and women in specific cultural settings. For example, knowing how to present and acknowledge food and gifts (folafola sua and folafola meaai). Students will also receive credits for participation in Polyfest and having a hand in planning and participating in Samoan Language Week performances.

Recommended Prior Learning

Have taken 1SMA or have a good grasp of the Samoan Language / culture or Approval of HOD Languages.

Students must also be willing to give speeches, participate in performance and contribute to class discussions.

You will be assessed in this course through all or a selection of the standards listed below.
