Course Description

Kau mai, lava mai! Join us in Semester 2 to learn about Lea Faka-Tonga through the lens of Tongan history. We will learn about the significance of Tongan food (‘umu), dance and songs in different settings. You will also experience Tongan traditions and customs during Tongan Language Week.

Recommended Prior Learning
Requirements for Year 10 Tongan: An interest in learning Tongan Language, and trying something new. A basic knowledge/understanding of the Tongan Language would be beneficial. Students MUST also be willing to stand and present speeches in spoken Lea Faka-Tonga. Students must also be willing to participate/contribute in class discussions.
It would also be beneficial if you have taken 10TNGA in Semester 1.
