Level 3 Tongan

NCEA level 3 Tongan focuses on 3 internal assessments and 2 external assessments. These assessments are intended to have the students communicate in lea faka-Tonga with the focus on communicating beyond their immediate context, exploring and justifying ideas and opinions - that is communicating ideas and opinions about past and future events as well as exploring and justifying those ideas and opinions.

91681 - Interact clearly using spoken Lea Faka-Tonga to explore and justify varied ideas and perspectives in different situations
91683 - Write a variety of text types in clear Lea Faka-Tonga to explore and justify varied ideas and perspectives

Recommended Prior Learning
Requirements for Year 13 Tongan: Students MUST have taken Tongan at year 12 OR Students MUST have a strong grasp of the Tongan language and can demonstrate strong spoken and written competency in the language. Students MUST be willing to stand and present speeches in spoken Lea faka-Tonga. Students MUST participate in class discussions and contribute.
