Level 1 Social Studies - Contemporary Social Issues

Course Description

In this course, we will be examining and conducting Social Inquiry as well as looking at Perspectives on contemporary social issues / case studies from New Zealand and/or around the globe. The learning that will take place in this course is in preparation for the TWO INTERNAL Assessments that you will be sitting during the Semester.

NOTE:  The first Internal assessment is a co-requisite standard (worth 5 credits) that can count towards your 'Literacy' credits.

Recommended Prior Learning

Requirements for 1SOSC Course:

An interest in Social Studies and a good level of LITERACY (as there is a lot of Research, Reading & Writing).
