Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mr I. Marino-Tauhinu

This course will extend language skills across the four modes of korero, whakarongo, panui and tuhituhi.
Ideally, students who have prior knowledge or have a confident grasp of Te Reo Maori are encouraged to apply as Maori will be the language of instruction most of the time.

Recommended Prior Learning

Students will need to have studied Te Reo Māori up to levels 4 or 5, or have come from a Kura Kaupapa or Te Wharekura in order to achieve all of the prescribed standards at level 1. All students completing Waihanga Tuhinga at this Level will be expected to manage their self-directed learning to complete the tasks. Students who are below level 4 will have the opportunity to complete the achievement standards; Whakarongo and Waihanga tuhinga only.
